Friendship at the brink of Destruction....

To Avoid or not to avoid….
I’m sure every one of you do have friends and everyone of them is ranked differently to you as you prioritize them differently in your life. This sort of friend thing ranges from a “hi hi” friend to best friends, heng dai, ji mui, sei dong or whatever u may call it. All of these ranks are usually easy to be differentiated. However, as it comes to best friends or good friends, you tend to walk unconsciously in “grey spots” especially when your good friend is an opposite sex. The word “grey spots” that I’m referring to are actions that both of you are doing might resemble the actions of what a stereotype couple would do. These so called “actions” are like going out for movies, hang out in a restaurant or shopping malls, or just keep calling or sms each other as if tomorrow is the end of the world……Although I do agree these actions are normal but such would translate a different meaning as it prolongs even further.….
Recently, I was approached by a friend ( let’s call her Apple…) who consulted me on this best friend issue that troubles her a lot as she was out of ideas to solve it. This story that I’m about to relate to you is upon the owner’s permission and has been tailored for public viewing and meant for entertainment only ( just for laughs… Owner, you won’t mind rite…?) and of course after some proper discretion from the Censorship Board of Malaysia also. But I’ll assure you, it’s still juicy…..
Once upon a time…. A girl by the name of Apple had a male friend called Gaga Binks ( as if I know the guy’s name …. Duh~ ) . Initially they find both of them understand each other very close from personality, moods, hobbies and likes to dislikes - you name it…. Since they find themselves clicked a lot, they started to go out often for 6-7 hours in restaurants talking to each other ( talk to each other for that long….? That would just make my saliva reserve to go dry in my body system…Only God knows what you’ve done between that hours girl….. and please dun think of something perverted although I seem to be encouraging you to do so….) . So, as chemistry between them built up, Gaga Binks start to show his intimate side by showing his affection. Making calls twice a week, text messages frequently and talk like a radio at restaurants for hours ( and annoys a lot of mamak because they only ordered 2 drinks !!!!) . Since Apple is an apple, Gaga Binks went a little step further by calling her with cute names in her sms like D**ling, my L**y and etc….. However, Apple is still an apple and she didn’t even bother of how he would call her….( because all girls like it…..no wonder we have a lot of cases relating to Casanovas lately in the country) .
Suddenly, when it came to a point where Gaga Binks had a relationship with another girl, Apple felt she should play a smaller role and try to slowly fade away from Gaga Binks’s life. Gaga Binks then found something odd is happening in the midst of their friendship and took drastic actions to solve it but the actions taken backfired him and caused Apple to get freaked out and look for an exit to end this by avoiding him from all of his calls, messages and other forms of communication. This is where she consulted me for help…… End.
My Assumptions and Conclusion
My theory on this story is that Gaga Binks might have developed his fond for Apple for quite some time but chose to be patient because Apple is yet to be available for “auction”. (haha…) Nevertheless, he gave out some signals and tested her limits to gauge how far the line drawn could be bent. Apple might have sense the signals but “pretended” unconsciously to be still just friends as she had drew the line earlier and expected him to understood. Gaga Binks may find himself special in this particular relationship as they would spent their time talking together. Besides just sharing their common interest or personalities, my guess is they share lots of their darkest secrets which they would not even reveal to their common friends, parents, or love ones. However, as Gaga Binks starts his love life with another girl, Apple’s dark experience made her felt it is better to avoid so that she wouldn’t be seen as the “third party” and cause any havoc in between them.
The reason why their friendship only remains at that level is because Apple is no longer available ( which means she’s either happy with her current bf or she is just a girl who plays by the book in serious relationship ) and she draws the line clearly in the early stages of their friendship. But all guys perceive that rules, lines, limits or boundaries are meant to be broken if it’s not to be bent. And the worse thing a guy needs from a girl who is unavailable is a false hope. A false hope that makes him works harder to get the girls approval. And if it’s at the point he could not bear it and throw all out but resulted into rejection would be just even more overwhelming. I believed that if it’s really for the sake of friendship it’s appropriate for Apple to lay low for a while but she has to confront Gaga Binks on why she had to play low profile and how to remain that precious friendship and not resort to avoidance. As for Gaga Binks, I can only hope that he would look into this maturely with his head and not with his heart. Because a man’s tears is much more painful than bleed……..
